Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: #1 ink

Good Morning! I'm back today with our Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: #1 ink
I am sharing a card I have made using my #1 ink in my crafting arsenal :)  It is the ink I reach for the most, and is the most versatile....any ideas what it is?? How about I show you the card first and you can guess for yourselves...I sure you know me well and already know the answer :)

Well...it is VERSAMARK :) Yes I believe I use it on almost every project!!!

I want to share some "must have" tools to accompany your Versamark ink. As you can see in the photo I actually have three pads: clear, red, and black...I will talk about that later. You will definitely want a re-inker, for you want your pad to be "juicy" to get the best image. You must have an Embossing Buddy or similar tool. It helps cut down the static on your paper, so embossing powders just stick to the ink...where you want it :) A fine paint brush will get a few stray bits off. Of course if you are using the ink for embossing you need embossing powder and a heat tool.

I love to emboss images....so when I colour and spritz generously, the ink stays put!

In this close-up you can see I also used Versamark on the tiny flower background stamp and on the sentiment...something I do ALL the time :) I seem to always use black ink for my sentiments, unfortunately I don't get it right the first time and need to re-stamp....this is where I use my black Versamark ink pad, that way I don't have to clean my stamp in between :)

Once again, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a random prize of a $50 dollar store voucher to use at their Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!!
I would love to see what your favorite inks are, so please pop on over to Simon Says Stamp and Show and link up to show us :)
Have a fantastic day! Hugs, TRace

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: A little paper

Good Monday morning! Hopefully the sun is shinning where ever you are!....but if not then I have a little shine for you ;)
Today I am sharing a 6 X 6 star card that I have made for our challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show: A little paper. I used only one 6X6 paper pack....I love how a designer has already done all the work for me, and all the papers are so matchy poo...definitely good for those days when thinking is a chore :)

The small scale of the pattern in the packs is another reason why I love and collect 6 X6 paper packs, regular 12 X 12 papers and their patterns would definitely have been too large for this card! 6x6 paper packs are PERFECT for card-making, mixed media, and scrapbooking too!

I am going to give this to my hubby....the star in my life :)

We would love to see your creations with your papers....and you just might be the lucky winner of a random draw for a $50 dollar store voucher at Simon Says Superstore :) :) :)

Have a great day! If you are in need of any more inspiration....you will definitely find it over at the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog :) Hugs, TRace

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: Inspired by

Good Monday morning to you all!!
I am back today with a multi media board for our latest challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show: Inspired by. This could be anything from a quote, a song lyric, or your favorite artist.
My daughter requested a turquoise board for her wall, so that got my mind thinking to a very cool technique I had seen on the Faber-Castell blog HERE.

Here is the start of my board. I had already applied a few coats of Gesso to the canvas. I planned a little different project, it was to cover the whole board with my Gelatos:)

Here is the whole board covered :) Not too sure about it at this point, thinking it might be too dark...but I love the canvas texture from the brush strokes from applying the Gesso!

To lighten it up, I decided to apply a bit more Gesso :)Ok...so it looks cool, not sure I like it thought, kinda do and want to leave it lol...so what now???

Cover it with a whole lot of different stencil images :)

I am a little sad that the pretty background does not show much anymore, but I got over it LOL! I just wanted to share...something I had not done before... and that is to use my copics through my stencils...works really well and if you are like me, and have a "few"....they give you many colour options, depending on how many you have of course LOL!!!

The stencil easily cleaned up with rubbing alcohol :)
I still had some leftover salt technique paper lying around, so I decided to use it for my heart...I wanted to share a tip. I cut our my heart as a stencil....that way I can move the open heart around on the homemade paper to find just the look I want :)

Just like every week Heidi from Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 dollar voucher to one random participant to spend at the Simon Says Stamp Superstore :)

You just might want to check out the rest of the dt....they have some amazing projects to share with you at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog :)
Have a fantastic day! Hugs, TRace
